Maker’s Mark has never made an older aged whisky because we didn’t think it was possible within our distillery values. But we asked ourselves, what if? What if age isn’t about time? What if it’s about maturity and evolving and even slowing down? What started as a secret to challenge our own beliefs is now the first-ever Maker’s Mark expression that marries 10-, 11-, and 12-year bourbon barrels.
The result is a first-of-its kind Maker’s Mark with deeper, richer and more complex flavor thanks to the additional maturation in our limestone whisky cellar – and without the overly “oaky” (and very un-Maker’s) bite that would come from aging for over a decade in our traditional outdoor rickhouses.
